Psalmist Rachel Armstrong

Psalmist Rachel Armstrong has a strong passion for the ministry of music. From the age of four, she knew she had a call on her life to minister through song. It was at the age of 14 that Rachel accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and to this day, she continues to use the gifts given her by the Lord to build up and to edify the body of Christ.

Psalmist Rachel had many God-given opportunities to share her gift of music with other world-renown artists, such as Fred Hammond, O’landa Draper, Tye Tribbett and Hezekiah Walker. She has also sung with various local artists, and was part of the group Sir Tez and GP. Rachel’s first single, “Everynite”, was released in 2000, and in 2003, she received an Omer Award for best single for up and coming independent artist at that time. She is currently working on her fourth album, entitled “Passion.”

Rachel is a member of Evangelistic Center, where she serves as vocal director in the music ministry and is an active participant in the young adult women’s group S.I.S.T.A.S. Psalmist also ministers with Mercy Chose Me Ministries, traveling to various nations to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song. In some of her travels, she has conducted vocal workshops, teaching preservation skills and other vocal techniques. However, the most important aspect of the workshop is to teach that “one must not just do praise and worship; one must BE praise and worship, for it is a lifestyle.

Educationally, Rachel is a graduate of Washburn University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and Psychology, and has obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Rachel, like the Psalmist David, seeks after the very heart of God through praise and worship. “As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, oh God.” – Psalm 42:1
